Phase 2 - Week 6
Weekly Reflection - 6
A Busy Week Filled with Learning and Realizations
This week passed by like any other regular week, yet it carried its own weight of experiences, lessons, and emotions. It was one more week late, but certainly not insignificant. Returning from there was full of pain, not just physical tiredness but also emotional exhaustion. Still, the week moved forward with a tightly packed and busy schedule that kept me constantly engaged in academic responsibilities.
A major part of the week was dedicated to practical examinations. There were lab exams for the Plus Two classes, and I had the opportunity to assist Priya teacher in the laboratory.
This experience was particularly enriching, as it allowed me to observe the precision, patience, and responsibility required during practical examinations. Managing students, ensuring proper conduct, checking records, and maintaining discipline in the lab made me realize how much preparation and alertness a teacher needs beyond classroom teaching.
Alongside this, I took regular classes for Plus One students. Handling the class independently helped me improve my confidence and classroom management skills. I tried to make the sessions interactive and ensured that students were comfortable asking questions. Each class felt like a step forward in my teaching journey, and day by day, I could sense myself getting better.
Another important task during the week was correcting the Christmas examination answer sheets. Though it was time-consuming, it helped me understand students’ learning levels, common mistakes, and areas where they needed more support. After correction, I cleared doubts for students, which was a rewarding experience. Their curiosity and eagerness to understand concepts reminded me of the true purpose of teaching.
One of the most meaningful realizations this week was coming to know the immense effort and dedication teachers put into their profession. Their love towards children, their patience, and their silent sacrifices often go unnoticed. Observing senior teachers closely made me respect the profession even more. Teaching is not just about delivering lessons; it is about shaping minds with care and commitment.
Friday was a significant day, as it was my class observation day. Suja teacher came to observe my class. Though I was slightly nervous, the session went smoothly. Her presence motivated me to give my best, and the feedback I received helped me identify my strengths and areas for improvement. This observation was an important learning experience that encouraged me to reflect on my teaching methods.
Overall, this week taught me valuable lessons about responsibility, perseverance, and professional growth. Despite being busy and tiring, it helped me understand the true efforts behind teaching. Each day brought new learning, and slowly but surely, I am growing into the role with more confidence and dedication.
