Teaching practice - Week 11

Weekly Reflection - 11

A Perfect Conclusion to an Incredible Journey

What a profound, strange mix of exhaustion and absolute exhilaration. This final, short week of my teaching practice has truly been the perfect capstone to the entire journey. It feels like I ran a marathon, but the view from the finish line is breathtaking.
The week itself was a sprint through a broken schedule. After the long gap—Pooja on Tuesday and Wednesday, then Gandhi Jayanti on Thursday—I was worried about losing momentum. Yet, for those bookend working days, Monday, September 29th, and Friday, October 3rd, the classes flowed. It speaks to the routine I've established with the students that we just... picked up where we left off. There was a little extra energy, maybe an underlying feeling of finality, but we kept the content moving. Now, for the final goodbye. It's going to be tougher than I think.
The real culmination, however, came this week. Conducting the Achievement Test this Monday (October 6) and seeing your students respond well must have been such a rewarding moment—a final, tangible proof of the progress you helped them make.
Then came the inevitable Tuesday (October 7th)—the very emotional final day. It's perfectly natural for it to feel that way; those months flew by be The gestures you made—preparing cards for your students and distributing sweets to both the staff and the classroom—show how much you cared.

And receiving those heartfelt feedbacks from your students, along with clicking those final pictures, are memories you'll carry forever.

It's wonderful that you acknowledged the immense support from the teachers in the Model School Higher Secondary Section. A great journey is always made better by great colleagues.

What stands out most is the power of your passion. To go through various health issues and yet find complete solace and forget your illness the moment you stepped into the classroom—that's the mark of a true calling. You're right, this wasn't just a practice; it was a trailer for your dream, and you genuinely lived your dream for these few months. That's a beautiful, remarkable experience, and you should be so proud of everything you accomplished.
What made the day even sweeter was the kindness from my guide, Jonny Sir. He offered me tea and a snack with the other teachers in the staff room, and then he gifted me a pen. I was absolutely at cloud nine at that moment; it felt like such a validating gesture. I also need to acknowledge the immense support from all the teachers in the Model School Higher Secondary Section—a great journey is always made better by great colleagues.
Looking back, what stands out most is the power of my passion. To go through various health issues and yet find complete solace—to literally forget my illness the moment I stepped into the classroom—that’s the mark of a true calling. I was right: this wasn't just a practice; it was the trailer for my dream, and I genuinely lived that dream for these few months. This has only cemented my path forward. Now, for the final goodbye. It’s tougher than I think.
